Mac Miller was a rapper, singer, and composer from the United States. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 19, 1992, and grew up in the Point Breeze area. Malcolm James McCormick was his given name.
Miller’s music career began at an early age, with the release of his debut mixtape, “But My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy,” at the age of fifteen. In 2010, and 2011, he rose to prominence with his mixtapes “K.I.D.S.” and “Best Day Ever.” He secured a record deal with Rostrum Records in 2011.
Miller’s debut studio album, “Blue Slide Park,” debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 list in 2011, making him the first independently distributed artist to do so since 1995. He went on to record a number of other successful albums, including “Watching Movies with the Sound Off,” “GO:OD AM,” and “The Divine Feminine.”
Miller suffered from substance addiction and despair in addition to his music career. Throughout his songs and interviews, he was frank about his hardships. Miller died of an accidental drug overdose on September 7, 2018, at the age of 26.
